Scholarship Program Policy
Educational Scholarships will be awarded to individuals who are presently employed in the field of Facilities Management for at least 12 months at an SRAPPA member institution.
Scholarships will be awarded on an individual basis, one individual per year per institute. Scholarships are awarded evenly across the region.
If there are scholarship funds available after the initial distribution, additional scholarships may be awarded to an institution.
The SRAPPA Board will determine the number of scholarships to be awarded annually based on the availability of funds. Scholarship recipients should enroll in their course within one year of the award date.
Recipients or their institutions will be responsible for all costs associated with the applicant’s coursework.
Scholarship can be forfeited if not used within 12 months (exceptions may apply).
Applications are received twice per year and must be completed, endorsed, and received by the SRAPPA Vice President for Education during the application periods.
Once a completed application is received, the VP of Education will send a confirmation email to the applicant indicating the application has been received.
The VP of Education will send a notification to each winner and announce their names at the Business Meeting segment of the SRAPPA Annual Meeting.
Upon successful completion of each course, a Request for Reimbursement should be submitted to the SRAPPA VP of Education and Treasurer and should include copies of all expenses (tuition/registration is covered by SRAPPA upfront, travel, lodging, and meals) and a copy of completion certificates or grades. The Request for Reimbursement should indicate to whom the payment check should be sent (individual or institution).
Scholarship recipients will be asked to submit an essay report of their APPA Institute or Leadership Academy or other training experiences once they have completed the program.
