    About the Role:

    This volunteer board position plays a key role in advancing professional development, scholarship, and credentialing opportunities for SRAPPA members across the region.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update SRAPPA’s strategic goals; provide updates before monthly board meetings.
  • Lead and coordinate scholarship programs for the Leadership Academy and the Institute for Facilities Management.
  • Manage SRAPPA’s CEFP Credentialing Program.
  • Organize and promote training opportunities such as workshops, leadership programs, and classroom sessions.
  • Serve as a voting member of both the SRAPPA Board of Directors and the Nominating Committee.
  • Attend SRAPPA Spring and Annual Board Meetings.
  • Encourage participation from non-member institutions and gather new ideas for professional development.

  • Term Length:

    Three (3) years, with eligibility for one additional consecutive term (maximum six years)

    SRAPPA Vice President of Communications

    About the Role:

    This position will be responsible for overseeing and directing all communication strategies and initiatives that support SRAPPA’s mission and vision. The VP of Communications will play a key role in elevating the association’s brand, enhancing member engagement, and ensuring consistent, clear, and impactful messaging across all platforms.

    As the VP of Communications, you will work closely with the Board of Directors and other leadership team members to define and execute communication goals, cultivate relationships with members and external stakeholders, and ensure information is circulated to all SRAPPA members.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Advance development, implementation, and execution of SRAPPA’s overall communication strategy to support the association’s goals and objectives.
  • Brand Management: Ensure SRAPPA's brand is consistently represented across all communication materials, including the website, social media, marketing collateral, and event communications.
  • Content Creation & Distribution: Oversee the creation and distribution of newsletters, member communications, and educational materials.
  • Digital Media & Social Media: Lead the association’s digital communications efforts, including social media, the SRAPPA website, and email campaigns to increase engagement and expand the organization’s reach.
  • Event Communications: Collaborate with event planning teams to ensure clear and consistent communication regarding SRAPPA’s conferences, webinars, workshops, and other member-focused events.
  • Member Engagement: Create and implement strategies to increase member involvement in association activities and enhance the overall member experience.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of communications staff, contractors, and volunteers to execute effective communications campaigns and projects.

    Three (3) years, with eligibility for one additional consecutive term (maximum six years)

    SRAPPA Treasurer-Elect

    Qualifications

    • Active SRAPPA member or eligible facilities management professional.
    • Interest or experience in accounting, finance, or nonprofit administration.
    • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills.
    • Willingness to learn and commit to SRAPPA leadership.

    About the Role:

    SRAPPA is excited to introduce the Treasurer-Elect position, designed to prepare the next financial leader of the organization. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing the association’s finances while learning directly from the current Treasurer.

    The Treasurer-Elect ensures continuity and a smooth transition into the Treasurer role, supporting SRAPPA’s mission to advance educational facilities leadership in the southern region.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Treasurer in managing SRAPPA’s financial operations, including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements for the Spring Board and Annual Meetings.
  • Learn to manage fund collection and disbursement in accordance with Board approvals.
  • Support the filing of tax returns and annual reports with the Corporation Commission of the State of Virginia.
  • Attend SRAPPA Spring Board and Annual Meetings, providing reports and insight as a voting member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Prepare to assume the Treasurer role at the conclusion of the Treasurer-Elect term.

  • Term Length:

    Monthly Time Commitment: Approximately 16 hours; additional time required for Spring Board and Fall Conference meetings

    Term: One-year preparatory term, transitioning into a three-year Treasurer term; eligible for additional consecutive term as Treasurer

    • Strong organizational, budgeting, and communication skills.

    About the Role:

    SRAPPA is seeking an experienced, organized leader to serve as Vice President of Conferences. This volunteer board position manages all aspects of planning, production, and sponsorship for the Annual SRAPPA Conference, the region’s premier professional development and networking event for educational facilities professionals.

    The Treasurer-Elect ensures continuity and a smooth transition into the Treasurer role, supporting SRAPPA’s mission to advance educational facilities leadership in the southern region.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all event planning activities: venue selection, scheduling, contracts, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
  • Recruit and manage business partners and sponsors.
  • Oversee subcommittees for sessions, food, A/V, keynote speakers, Printing & Advertising and special events.
  • Develop and manage the conference budget; report outcomes to the SRAPPA Board and Treasurer.
  • Attend SRAPPA Spring and Annual Meetings and serve as a voting Board member.
  • Support future host sites and provide historical perspective for ongoing conference success.
  • Develop and manage the conference budget, securing Board approval during the Spring Meeting.
  • Submit an itemized report on income and expenditures to the Treasurer after each conference.
  • Prepare and present written reports at the SRAPPA Spring and Annual Board Meetings. Serve as a voting member of the SRAPPA Board of Directors.

  • Term Length:

    Monthly Time Commitment: 10–20 hrs/month (off-season); 50–60 hrs/month (conference season)

    Term: Three (3) years; may be re-elected for additional consecutive terms
