SRAPPA Board Vacancies

Have you wanted to get involved with the SRAPPA Board?  Now is your chance!  There are currently four (4) opportunities to serve with the Board.  We are looking to fill the SRAPPA 1st Vice President (voting), SRAPPA Vice President for Education (voting), SRAPPA Representative for Emerging Professionals (non-voting), and SRAPPA Continuous Learning & Curriculum Development (non-voting) positions.

If you are interested in any of the positions, please submit a letter of interest to the SRAPPA Past-President Mike Steger.

1st Vice President

The 1st Vice President will be elected to hold office for a one (1) year term and will ascend to President Elect, President, then Past President. The duties and responsibilities of the 1st Vice President are as follows: 

  1. Attend the SRAPPA Spring Board Meeting at fall host site city.
  2. Serve as a voting member on the Nominating Committee.
  3. Attend the APPA and SRAPPA annual meetings.
  4. Serve as a voting member on the Board of Directors.
  5. Works with all Board Members to understand roles and responsibilities.
  6. Support VP of Communications with website edits and updates.
  7. Work with President-Elect to develop articles for association newsletter.
  8. Support each committee that is operational in scope, i.e., Membership, Awards, Professional Development
  9. Work on Committees as assigned by the President or on a voluntary basis.
  10. Supports President and President-Elect in coverage for Board vacancies.

SRAPPA Representative for Emerging Professionals

The SRAPPA Representative for Emerging Professionals is appointed to a three (3) year term and may be appointed to serve an additional consecutive term. Emerging Professionals are defined as someone who has recently begun a career in the field of Educational Facilities Management. Many of them bring the following attributes to the educational facilities management profession:

  • Fresh new ideas to share
  • Desire to be engaged and be active at the chapter, regional and international levels
  • Different perspectives from previous professional experiences
  • Motivated to be engaged with the broader membership
  • Provide significant contributions and seeking mentoring opportunities
  • May introduce different modes of information technology
  • Aspire for growth in leadership and a career in Facilities Management

The Emerging Professionals Representative reports to the SRAPPA Vice President for Chapter Affairs. This representative would work to develop and maintain an engagement program for emerging professionals in the educational facilities field.

The duties and responsibilities of the SRAPPA Representative for Emerging Professionals are as follows:

  1. Develop and maintain an emerging professional’s engagement program.
  2. Participate in the monthly SRAPPA board meeting calls.
  3. Attend the SRAPPA Annual meeting and conference.
  4. Participate in the quarterly VP Chapter Affairs calls.

SRAPPA Continuous Learning & Curriculum Development

The SRAPPA Continuous Learning & Curriculum Development Representative is appointed to a three (3) year term and may be appointed to serve an additional consecutive term. This Representative will support APPA’s Continuous Learning programming, delivering real-time, critical topics by industry experts sharing best and emerging practices for success. Formats for delivery will be addressed and will vary based on content across a variety of platforms such as webinars, town halls, on-demand podcasts, one/two virtual or live events, etc.

This position reports to the VP for Education.

The duties and responsibilities of the SRAPPA Continuous Learning & Curriculum Development Representative are as follows:

 

  1. Virtual meeting once a month (both APPA and SRAPPA’s virtual meetings); In-person (APPA) 1-2 times a year.
  2. Responsiveness to APPA and the region’s needs for learning, training and professional development
  3. Willingness to communicate and coordinate the work effort with their region board, regional director and regional president and broadly across their region
  4. Share insights and ideas freely with the team
